Besançon Clinches Home Win Over Rennes

Besançon solidified their seventh-place standing in NM1's Pool B by securing a 98-84 victory over Rennes, a team previously ahead of them in the league table.

The home side established a commanding 19-point lead by halftime, leading 62-43, before Rennes mounted a comeback attempt.

Despite seeing their advantage trimmed to 10 points (74-64) entering the final quarter, Besançon managed to hold on for a 14-point win. A decisive offensive surge in the second quarter, where Besançon outscored Rennes 37-27, proved pivotal. Besançon's sharp shooting, hitting 15 of 32 three-pointers (47%), was a key factor, complemented by an impressive 38 points from their bench. Hugo Cluysen led the charge with 18 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, while Simon Correa contributed 15 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
