Spain Dominates Sweden at U20 Women's EuroBasket

Spanish dominance was on full display at the Gargzdai Arena as they secured a resounding 77-37 victory over Sweden in the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket.

The Iberian side seized control early, building a 17-point lead by halftime (35-18) and never looking back. The second quarter proved particularly decisive, as Spain outscored Sweden 16-2, a surge that ballooned their advantage to 29 points entering the final period (54-25).

While shooting 46% from the field (31/67), Spain's victory was underpinned by relentless defence, holding Sweden to a mere 25% shooting (13/53) and outrebounding them 45-24. The Spanish bench also provided significant support, contributing 30 points. Ines Sotelo Miguez and Marta Alsina Alberich led the scoring with 14 points apiece, complemented by Lucia Martinez Lopez, who added 9 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.

For Sweden, Shiloh Kalenga was a bright spot with 12 points and four combined blocks and steals, but it wasn't enough to counter Spain's overwhelming performance. This emphatic win sends a clear statement of intent from Spain in the tournament.
