Wysocka leads Poland to victory
Julia Wysocka erupted for 20 points, steering Poland to a hard-fought 56-47 victory over Slovenia at the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket. Poland held a 32-26 lead at halftime, but Slovenia battled back to trail by just two points (40-38) entering the final quarter. It was there Poland sealed their success, outscoring Slovenia 16-9 in the period to secure the win. Poland shot 37% from the field (20/54) compared to Slovenia's 32% (19/60), though the Slovenians enjoyed a significant 19-1 advantage in bench scoring. Maria Burliga completed a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Natalia Rutkowska added 13 points and six boards. For Slovenia, Tjasa Turnsek led the way with 15 points and seven rebounds, with Brina Sedminek contributing 14 points off the bench. Poland made a statement with this decisive performance in the tournament.
