McCoy's Masterclass Not Enough as Ulm Downs Balkan
Javante McCoy delivered a dazzling individual offensive display, yet it proved insufficient as Ratiopharm Ulm secured a 98-84 win against KK Balkan.
In this regular-season clash at the Ratiopharm Arena, Ulm established control early, building a 14-point advantage in the first quarter and maintaining command throughout.
Despite McCoy's 32 points, complemented by 4 assists and 2 steals, Balkan never mounted a serious challenge, trailing by 15 at halftime (54-39) and still down 16 entering the final period (75-59).
Ulm's offensive efficiency was the key, hitting 61% of their field goals (38/62) and a strong 46% from three-point range (13/28), while their bench chipped in 23 crucial points. Simisola Shittu led the charge with 17 points and 7 rebounds, with Ibi Watson adding 19 points and 4 assists, and Michael Rataj contributing 15 points. For Balkan, Darnell Edge posted 18 points and 5 assists, and David Okwera recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome Ulm's consistent offensive output.
