Thunder seize 2-1 series lead over Spurs
The Oklahoma City Thunder seized control of the NBA Finals series, outlasting the San Antonio Spurs 123-108 to take a 2-1 lead.
Oklahoma City held a slim seven-point advantage at halftime before extending it to eleven entering the fourth quarter, ultimately winning by fifteen. The Thunder's bench was the catalyst, outscoring San Antonio's reserves a staggering 76-23, a decisive factor in the contest. Oklahoma City also shot a blistering 45% from three-point range (17-of-38) compared to San Antonio's 32% (13-of-41).
Despite 26 points from Victor Wembanyama and 20 from Devin Vassell, the Spurs struggled to keep pace. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander orchestrated the Thunder's attack with a double-double of 26 points and 12 assists, while bench contributions from Jaylin Williams (18 points) and Cason Wallace (11 points) proved invaluable. San Antonio's 15 turnovers also hampered their ability to mount a comeback.
This pivotal win gives the Thunder a commanding 2-1 series lead, putting immense pressure on the Spurs as the Finals shift back to San Antonio.
