Thunder Tie Series With Spurs Victory

The Oklahoma City Thunder have levelled their Conference Finals series at 1-1 following a commanding 122-113 victory over the San Antonio Spurs at the Paycom Center. Holding an 11-point lead at halftime (62-51), the Thunder weathered a Spurs surge but maintained control, entering the final period with an 8-point cushion (96-88).

Oklahoma City's bench depth proved pivotal, outscoring their Spurs counterparts 57-25. Despite San Antonio holding a significant rebounding advantage (45-41) and shooting an efficient 49% from the field, 21 turnovers proved too costly. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spearheaded the Thunder's attack with 30 points and 9 assists, while Alex Caruso (17 points) and Cason Wallace (12 points, 4 steals) provided crucial offensive sparks off the bench.

For the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama delivered a double-double performance, tallying 21 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 blocks. Stephon Castle and Devin Vassell chipped in with 25 and 22 points respectively, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Thunder's balanced scoring and 14 steals. The Thunder also shot a respectable 36% from three-point range despite the Spurs' 40% mark.

With the series now tied 1-1, the momentum shifts to San Antonio for Game 3, where the Thunder's ability to generate offence from their reserves will again be a key factor.
