Thunder Sweep Suns, Advance to Next Round
The Oklahoma City Thunder clinched their spot in the next round by eliminating the Phoenix Suns 131-122, completing a decisive 4-0 first-round playoff sweep. Holding an eight-point lead at halftime (67-75), the Thunder maintained that advantage entering the final quarter (98-106) before sealing the win. Despite the Suns shooting an impressive 54% from the field (48/89), they couldn't overcome Oklahoma City's efficiency, which included a 50% clip from three-point range (17/34) and 35 points from their bench. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spearheaded the Thunder's offense with 31 points and 8 assists, complemented by Chet Holmgren's double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Although Dillon Brooks scored 23 points and Collin Gillespie added 20, the Suns ultimately lacked the firepower to counter Oklahoma City's consistent performance. The Oklahoma City Thunder advance to the next round of the playoffs following this series-clinching victory.
