Bayart Leads Belgium Past Türkiye in Tight Contest

Pauline Bayart spearheaded Belgium's charge in a hard-fought 70-68 victory over Türkiye at the Alytus Arena.

In this FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket clash, Belgium overcame a two-point halftime deficit to snatch the win.

Türkiye held a 37-35 lead at the break, but Belgium surged ahead, establishing a six-point advantage, 56-50, entering the final period after a decisive 21-13 third quarter. The Belgians showcased tenacious defence, tallying 12 steals, though Türkiye outrebounded them 39-27 and dished out 23 assists to Belgium's 19. Belgium converted 24 of 57 field goals (42%), while Türkiye shot slightly better at 43% (26/61).

Bayart finished with 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals, sharing her team's scoring high with Kyra Bruyndoncx, who added 16 points and 3 assists.
