Selebangue's 36 not enough as Chalon wins
Morgan Selebangue produced a dazzling individual effort, dropping 36 points, yet it wasn't enough to prevent Espoirs Bourg-en-Bresse from falling to Espoirs Chalon/Saône 83-89 at Ekinox. Chalon/Saône established control early, building a nine-point lead by the end of the first quarter and taking a 38-47 advantage into halftime. Despite a spirited effort, Bourg couldn't fully close the gap, trailing by eight heading into the final period. The visitors' bench provided a significant spark, outscoring Bourg's reserves 47-14, a crucial difference-maker. While Leni Monnet added 12 points and Messie-Emmanuel Mayamona chipped in 10 points off the bench, and Bourg outrebounded Chalon 48-40, Chalon's 47% field goal shooting and 26 assists proved too much. Antoine Darsonville and Ibrahim Diallo paced Chalon with 13 and 14 points respectively. The win leaves both teams at 1-0, good for first and fourth in the Leaders Cup standings.
