Castaneda Powers Nanterre Past Cholet

Xavier Castaneda ignited the Palais des Sports Maurice Thorez with a 20-point performance, steering Nanterre to a decisive 86-69 win over Cholet. The Betclic Elite regular season clash saw both sides enter with identical 2-2 records, but Nanterre ultimately asserted dominance. While Cholet battled, securing 23 rebounds to Nanterre's 37 and forcing 11 turnovers with 7 steals, their outside shooting proved a significant hindrance, hitting just 3 of 20 three-point attempts (15%).

Nanterre's victory was built on superior overall efficiency, shooting 49% from the field (23/47) compared to Cholet's 41% (20/49). Crucial work on the glass, highlighted by J'Wan Roberts' 9 rebounds alongside 7 points and 2 assists, underpinned their control. Donta Scott chipped in with 12 points and 6 rebounds, showcasing Nanterre's depth, as their bench contributed 17 points, matching Cholet's reserve output. Despite Cholet's active defence, Nanterre managed the game's flow effectively to secure the win.

This victory propels Nanterre to a 3-2 record, solidifying their sixth-place standing in the Leaders Cup standings.
