Cholet snatch OT win over Nancy
Mohamed Diarra and Jamuni McNeace spearheaded Cholet's hard-fought overtime triumph (94-91) over Nancy on Sunday night at La Meilleraie.
In a crucial regular-season clash, Nancy held a significant lead for much of the contest, up by eight at halftime (43-51) and maintaining that advantage entering the final quarter (65-73). Cholet, however, mounted a stirring comeback, significantly bolstered by their bench which outscored Nancy's reserves 48-25.
Despite matching Nancy's 39% field goal percentage (30/76 to 29/74), Cholet found a way to win. They capitalised on Nancy's 18 turnovers, while committing only 12 themselves, a critical difference in the tight affair.
Stéphane Gombauld delivered a standout performance for Nancy with a double-double (21 points, 13 rebounds), but it wasn't enough. Diarra also recorded a double-double for Cholet with 16 points and 13 boards, complemented by Jamuni McNeace's 18 points and 10 rebounds. Keshawn Justice provided a spark off the bench with 13 points.
This win solidifies Cholet's (8W-7L) eighth position, securing a Leaders Cup spot, while Nancy (6W-9L) remains eleventh.
