Nanterre stuns Monaco to clinch series
Nanterre has eliminated Monaco from championship contention, securing a dramatic 98-89 victory in the decisive Game 3 of their Betclic Elite semi-final. Trailing by as many as 12 points at halftime (53-41) and still down nine entering the final period (71-62), Nanterre unleashed an 18-point swing in the fourth quarter, outscoring Monaco 36-18 to seal their passage. This comeback triumph, in a series tied 1-1 before tip-off, highlighted Nanterre's resilience and ability to seize crucial moments. They dominated the boards with a commanding 45-19 rebounding advantage and received a significant boost from their bench, which contributed 38 points compared to Monaco's 30. While Elie Okobo's 23 points and 8 assists, alongside Yoan Makoundou's 20 points off the bench, led Monaco's effort, it wasn't enough to counter Nanterre's surge. Len Schoormann, with 20 points and 5 assists, and Roko Prkacin, adding 15 points and 7 rebounds off the bench, provided vital leadership, complemented by Mitchell Saxen's double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds. Nanterre advances to the Betclic Elite Finals, having clinched the series 2-1.
