Monaco Crowned Champions: Blossomgame Leads Charge
Jaron Blossomgame spearheaded Monaco's Betclic Elite championship triumph, sealing an 81-75 victory over Bourg-en-Bresse to clinch the series 2-0.
In a decisive championship game at Salle Gaston Médecin, Monaco seized control early, building a nine-point lead in the opening quarter. Despite Bourg’s resilience, bolstered by 29 points from their bench, Monaco maintained their advantage, holding a five-point lead at halftime and extending it to seven entering the final period.
Monaco’s rebounding edge (35 to Bourg’s 42) was offset by a meagre 14% (2/14) from three-point range, but their 51% (31/61) overall field goal efficiency and ball control, despite 16 turnovers, proved sufficient. Blossomgame, with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, was the offensive catalyst, complemented by Kevarrius Hayes’ 17 points. Elie Okobo also chipped in with 11 points and 8 assists, while Kevin Kokila led Bourg with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
By winning this quarter-final series 2-0, Monaco secured the Betclic Elite championship title, capping a dominant season with a decisive home victory.
