Lelik Leads Hungary to Dominant World Cup Victory

Reka Lelik delivered a masterful performance, guiding Hungary to a resounding 84-63 victory over Japan in the FIBA Women's World Cup.

Hungary held a narrow 37-34 lead at halftime, but a decisive 21-11 third quarter surge extended their advantage to 58-45 entering the final period.

Lelik was the catalyst, finishing with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, complemented by Virag Takacs-Kiss who added 17 points and 8 boards to solidify the win. Hungary showcased impressive efficiency, shooting 50% from the field (28/56) and a scorching 44% from three-point range (11/25), while holding Japan to just 32% shooting. Despite Japan's bench outscoring Hungary's 32-19, fuelled by Rui Machida's game-high 12 assists, it wasn't enough to overcome the Hungarian offensive firepower.
