Juhasz Masterclass Powers Hungary Past Korea

Dorka Juhasz delivered a dominant performance, notching a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds to power Hungary to a hard-fought 82-73 victory over the Republic of Korea at the FIBA Women's World Cup.

Hungary held a slim 40-36 lead at halftime, but the Republic of Korea battled back to trail by just two, 58-56, entering the final period. It was there that Hungary asserted control, outscoring their opponents 24-17 in the decisive quarter to seal the win. The Hungarian side showcased impressive efficiency, shooting 50% from the field (25/50) and receiving a crucial boost from their bench, which contributed 38 points. The Republic of Korea, despite hitting 10 three-pointers at a 42% clip, struggled with ball security, committing 20 turnovers.

Alongside Juhasz's stellar outing, Virag Takacs-Kiss chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds for Hungary. For the Republic of Korea, Isaem Choi and Sohee Lee came off the bench to score 13 and 12 points respectively. This victory serves as a significant statement for Hungary within the international tournament.
