Israel Dominates Italy at FIBA U20 EuroBasket

Israel asserted their dominance at the FIBA U20 EuroBasket, securing a resounding 84-59 victory over Italy at Arena Stožice II. Holding a slender seven-point lead at halftime (32-39), Israel decisively pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Italy 20-11 in a period that swung the game firmly in their favour. This momentum carried into the final quarter, where Israel extended their lead to 16 points before cruising to a 25-point win.

The Israeli side shot a more efficient 40% from the field compared to Italy's 31%, and their 43 rebounds to Italy's 33 provided crucial second-chance opportunities and defensive stops. While turnovers were relatively even, Israel's 20 assists highlighted their superior ball movement.

Despite the loss, Italy found offensive sparks from Theo Airhienbuwa, who posted 18 points, and reserve Edhodaghe Atamah, contributing 11 points and 9 rebounds. However, Israel's balanced attack, led by Oren Sahar's 18 points and 9 rebounds and Yonatan Keller's 19 points, proved too much.
