Jarc's Masterclass Fuels Slovenia's Comeback Win

Lun Jarc delivered a commanding performance, scoring 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to propel Slovenia to a hard-fought 76-71 victory over the People's Republic of China.

In a FIBA U17 World Cup clash, Slovenia overcame an eight-point halftime deficit, trailing 31-39 at the break, to ultimately secure the win.

The Chinese held a slim 51-53 lead entering the final quarter, but Slovenia mounted a significant comeback, outscoring their opponents 25-18 in the period. While China's bench outscored Slovenia's 24-15 and they forced 10 steals to Slovenia's 3, Slovenia found a higher gear offensively, shooting 48% from the field compared to China's 32%. Jarc's double-double, which also included 4 assists and 2 steals, was pivotal, as was Aleks Pejic Rupnik's 12 points and 5 assists. For China, Yizhaojie Zhang led the charge with 18 points.

This victory serves as a statement for Slovenia in the tournament, showcasing their resilience and ability to execute under pressure.
