About Coupe de France

The Coupe de France de Basket is the national knockout cup run by the FFBB, open to every affiliated French club from Betclic Elite down through the amateur tiers. Early regional rounds start in September; the Trophée Coupe de France (the national phase proper) kicks in from the Round of 64 onwards, drawing in the pro teams. The competition culminates at Bercy in mid-May with the men's and women's finals played on the same weekend.

Unlike league play, every round is single-elimination — one bad night ends your campaign, which is why the French Cup has produced some of the biggest upsets in domestic basketball. Pro sides that dominated recent editions include ASVEL Villeurbanne, AS Monaco, Paris Basketball and Le Mans; lower-division clubs regularly pull off giant-killings in the earlier rounds.

Where to watch: early rounds typically stream on LNB TV or club YouTube channels for free; the final is traditionally broadcast free-to-air on L'Équipe. Individual match pages list the broadcaster when available, alongside box scores and highlights.
